Welcome South Sudan

15 07 2011

While you were not looking, a brand new Christian nation was born on July 9, 2011. Most of its 8 million citizen are Christians as is their first head of state, President Salva Kiir.

Sudan’s civil war left 2 million dead in the last 25 years. Now the North Sudan leader demands Sharia law for its Muslim people. While this will present a new threat for Israel, South Sudan stands to become a new partner for Israel. No doubt the establishment of another Christian country in Northeastern Africa holds important strategic significance for the State of Israel, militarily, politically, and security-wise. Israeli decision-makers will be looking southward to try to determine whether there will be a potential ally in Southern Sudan that might strengthen its regional standing. (Jerusalem Center For Public Affairs)

The war is over but the South has most of the oil that sustained Sudan, and the North has the pipeline that carries the oil to market. We must pray for God’s favor on the Republic of South Sudan.

Franklin Graham and Samaritan’s Purse report the celebration in detail with photos and video here.

Dearly beloved Pastor Les & Doreen: loving greetings to both of you. I just sent a letter to Pastor Bruce & Miriam Martin, suggesting that he send you an Email to invite you to Calvary Temple again. If he does, would you both
consider coming? The time you came, you preached in the Buntain Chapel, and you prayed for Pastor Bruce, didn’t you? I’m so glad for this issue of the Elijahvision, speaking about the newly formed nation of the Republic of Southern Sudan. I had not heard about that, but it is exciting news, isn’t it? Wouldn’t it be wonderful if this newly formed nation turns out to be a friend of Israel? I also didn’t realize that the Syrians broke into the U.S. Embassy and
destroyed their equipment while the U.S. Marines watched without opposing them? Do they need an invitation to protect the U.S. Embassy, or do they need Obama to give them the “go ahead?” God forbid!!! Shalom, shalom,
l’heetra-ot, lyla tov chaverim!!! . . . .Jeremiah
